So you want to learn how to shoot a bow?
You’ve thought about shooting a bow but don’t think you can.
Maybe you’ve seen archery on TV and in the movies and thought how cool it would be to do that.
Are you concerned that you’re too old to learn something new? That you’re not strong enough to pull back a bow and you could never hit the target?
Well, you are the person I’m looking for!
I’m here to tell you that you can do it!
Sometimes the best things happen later in life. For instance, I started nursing school at age 40 and I wasn’t the oldest in my class! I started shooting a compound bow at the age of 46 and found out that I was stronger than I thought I was.
Yes, I did miss a few targets and lost a couple of arrows, but I kept practicing and that’s what it takes to learn something new.
You see, bowhunting and target shooting are for any age; young, old, and in between. I’ve known of grandmothers who take their vacations every year to deer hunt. I’ve seen a young woman with a baby strapped on her back walking a 3D course shooting her bow.
WHAT TO EXPECT
My goal is to encourage you to get involved with archery either by bowhunting or target shooting.
Both will be discussed here and I will give you tips and ideas on how to get started.
I promise it’ll be fun and informative with a bit of humor thrown in.
We’ll also discuss…well, whatever you want to discuss as it relates to archery. I may even share some of my favorite venison recipes, some short stories about my hunting adventures, products I’ve used that I think you’ll like and, well, heck I might even throw in an article or two about my cats. I love cats, so be on the lookout for that too.
