Have you ever wondered what the difference is between a regular 3D target shoot and R100 archery shoot? ( Rinehart 100 shoot) The difference is about 80 targets. 100 targets in 2 days, hence the name Rinehart 100 or R100. If you feel up for a challenge, then this event is for you.
What is an R100 Archery Shoot?
The R100 is an exciting and challenging 3D archery event held every year during the spring and summer months. It’s a two-day event held over the weekend and consists of two 50 target ranges for a total of 100, 3D life-size Rinehart targets of animals such as deer, bear, turkey, skunks, cape buffalo, elephants, dinosaurs, and Big Foot. Yup, Big Foot makes an appearance. The two ranges are the North American Range and the Safari Range.
Tip: Make sure you regularly shoot your bow before attempting so many targets. If you’re not used to shooting much, you could get a sore arm or possibly a strained muscle. One hundred targets is a lot of shooting so be prepared.
Where are these R100 Events Held?
The R100 travels around the country setting up in various archery clubs usually starting in late February or March. They don’t always set up in the same place every year so be sure to check out their new schedule posted on the R100 website every January.
Who Can Shoot the R100?
If you can shoot a bow, the R100 is for you. Doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or an old pro, 9 or 90. It’s family-friendly, so bring your family or a few friends. Groups are limited to 5-6 archers. Family and friends can tag along with your group.

Do I Think an R100 Archery Shoot is Worth It? Absolutely.
When my husband mentioned going to the R100, I admit I had serious doubts about whether I could shoot that many targets. I was used to shooting 20 to 25 targets at a time for a couple of years, but 100 targets…in 2 days?
My husband reassured me that I could do it. So, we chose a location that was a couple hours away from us, adjusted our work schedules, and made a three-day weekend of it.
The important thing to know about the R100 is that it is some of the most fun you’ll ever have with your bow. It’s a great way to hang out with friends, meet new people, and just relax and destress for a while. As soon as the R100 is over, you’ll be looking forward to the next one. I’m sure of it.
Please check out the R100 website for more complete information. They have rules you’ll need to be familiar with to ensure a fun and safe experience. Click here to read those rules.
